Comics: Diary

STORYBOARDING DIARY

REVIEW:
This assignment was completed in Spring 2018 for Interactive Media Arts 20: Writing and Storyboarding for Games at Irvine Valley College.

RESULTS:
Maintaining a comic diary helped me master image-to-image and text-to-image relationships, inspired by Scott McCloud’s Understanding Comics chapter, "Show and Tell." Drawing from my daily life, I practiced action-to-action, scene-to-scene, moment-to-moment, aspect-to-aspect, and subject-to-subject transitions.

REFLECTION:
This assignment was an exercise in time management and narrative structure. Creating five, one-page comics over a single week (on top of my usual professional, personal, and academic duties) was a rewarding challenge.
